Wine Fare Tasting: May 30 & 31, San Francisco

More women than men graduate from the UC Davis Enology and Viticulture program each year and have for years. Yet there are still far fewer female winemakers than their male counterparts in California. Women are also underrepresented as business owners and entrepreneurs.

That’s why it’s worth supporting female winemakers and the small brands they own. And that’s where Wine Fare comes in. This tasting, which is now in its 8th incarnation, has championed the women of the natural and non-interventionist wine movement from California and around the globe.

The tastings are casual, welcoming, and a lot of fun. This year the wineries pouring include: Alluvial Wine & Spirits, Amy Atwood Selections, Analog Wine Co, Azizam Wines, BScene, Buddy Buddy Wine, Cary Q Wines, Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot, Châteauneuf-du-Fargosonini, Cote of Paint, Cruess Wine, Danch and Granger Selections, Driftwood Cottage Wines, Eislynn Wines, Etteilla Wines, Floraison Seletions, Forlorn Hope, Frey, Garage Gal, Heleje Wine Co., Helia Wines, Hobo Wine Company, Intertidal Wine Co, Isa Wines, Julie & Toby Bainbridge, Keep Wines, Laughing Gems, Legend Australian Wine Imports, Little Trouble Wine Co., Loop de Loop Wines, Maison des Plaisances, Marbeso, Matthiasson Wines, Miscreant Wines, Native Bloom Winery, Nomadic Distribution, None Such Wines, Outward Wines, Parea Wines, Post & Vine Wines, Raft Wines, Schema Wines, Six Cloves Wines, Stella Crinita, T’Amaro Brands, T. Edward Wines & Spirits, Terah Wine Co, Tessier Winery, Testa Vineyards, Tipsy Rose Wines, Trailmarker Wines, Trash Wine, Unturned Stone, Vero Vino, Ward Four Wines, Women Winemakers from Serendipty Wines, and women winemakers from Zev Rovine’s portfolio.

If you lean towards natural wine, or if you’re even just curious, this is a great tasting for exploration and learning, plus a great way to support a part of the wine industry that deserves it.
